Travel tips
Here"s what you need to know about traveling to and in Austria and where we stayed
Driving to Austria
Keep in mind the traffic jams in Germany and factor in a few extra hours to your total travel time. To make the drive more comfortable, we stayed at Hotel Engel in Ulm to make the drive less long. It's a lovely little place with kind staff and a nice breakfast to get you ready for the last part of the drive up to Austria
Stay
We stayed at Appartement Bürgerbote zur Hohen Salve, a charming two-bedroom apartment with a fantastic location and a free parking space on-site. The owner, who lives just upstairs, is incredibly kind and helpful. I highly recommend this place for its spaciousness, great location, and welcoming atmosphere.
Getting around in Hopfgarten
We found getting around here in our own car incredibly easy, with clear and well-marked directions. While some of the mountain roads can be a bit steep, Austria is so well-organized, clean, and the locals are always helpful. You really can't go wrong here!
